Rockvale is one of Fremont County’s original coal camps. The town incorporated in 1886, and its mine, operated by Colorado Fuel and Iron from 1896 until 1927, once shipped coal by rail every day. The mine is long gone, but Rockvale remains a close-knit residential town south of Florence and Williamsburg. Under the Bus Auto provides mobile auto repair and maintenance to Rockvale residents at their homes.
Skip the Drive to Town
Rockvale has no auto repair shop of its own, which means most residents drive to Florence or Canon City for service. That works until the vehicle will not start, the brakes are grinding, or the engine is overheating. In those situations a mobile mechanic is the practical choice: we diagnose and repair the vehicle where it is parked.

Keeping Older Vehicles on the Road
Rural households tend to keep vehicles longer, and many Rockvale driveways have a truck or car with well over 150,000 miles. Older vehicles reward consistent maintenance. Regular oil changes, fluid checks and brake inspections catch problems early, and replacing a worn part on schedule is far cheaper than repairing the damage a failed part causes. We are glad to work on older vehicles, and we will tell you plainly when a repair is or is not worth the money.
Winter Preparation
Cold mornings are the most common time for batteries and starters to fail. Before winter, we recommend testing the battery and charging system, checking antifreeze protection, replacing worn wiper blades, and inspecting tires and brakes. Our winter vehicle maintenance page covers the full checklist.
Rockvale is inside Fremont County, so there is no mileage charge for service.
